Tiny Travelship's favourite places to stay and play across the UK

Tiny Travelship is THE community for style seeking parents who want family travel with zero compromise. Featuring a curated collection of handpicked holidays that don’t dial down on food, ambience or style. Plus each and everyone is mama inspected and selected, you know you can 100% trust them.

Wondering where to head this half term? We’ve curated a list of our communities favourite places to stay and play across the UK

Norfolk

One of the finest corners in the UK, in our opinion, Norfolk is the ultimate parent pleaser; with mild marshes, cosy corners and blissfully empty beaches just begging to be explored.

Where to stay

Riverside Retreat is a design-led haven, a mere 10 minute stroll from historic Norwich and perfectly positioned to explore the rest and best of the county. Home to two bedrooms, a light-filled kitchen / living area, two bathrooms and a large garden – the setup is ideal for families seeking space and independence. If hotels are your vibe, check into The Harper, a contemporary country escape where laidback luxury is the name of the game. It’s an adults first hotel, so best for mamas with babes in arms looking for a little R&R. Rooms are divided into big, bigger and biggest. Big rooms are plenty big enough for a cot, but for a bath you’ll need to size up. There’s an indoor pool, which is bookable for private swim sessions, and a sumptuous spa menu. Furry friends are also welcome

Where to play

You’re spoilt for choice with beaches, but Holkham and Wells next Sea are two of our favourites. Take a seal watching boat trip from Blakeney, run riot at BeWILDerwood with its huge treehouse filled forest, zip wires and jungle bridges. Roarr! Adventure park is an essential for any dinosaur enthusiast, whilst The Gin Trap Inn should be in the running for the most family-friendly pub in the UK thanks to the excellent food menu paired with an immense wooden playground

The New Forest

Autumn is the best time to staycation in the fairytale like forest, where long foliage filled walks can be rewarded with cosy, fireside pub lunches

Where to stay

New Park Manor proves you can relax on holiday with children (instead of just parenting in a different location). The hotel provides 90 minutes of complimentary childcare a day plus baby monitors that work anywhere in the hotel – allowing parents to indulge in a rare adult conversation over dinner for two. One of our favourite family stays in the UK has to be Dairy Cottage – a dreamy holiday home you might recognise from Grand Designs. All parent paraphernalia you could possibly need is ready and waiting for you. Plus, it’s not just children Dairy Cottage caters (incredibly well) for. They can organise a pampering visit from a masseuse, or local babysitters

Where to play

Paultons Park, home to the nation’s favourite pig, is a must for Peppa super fans. With rides suitable for all ages it’s heaven for toddlers. Parents can enjoy pigs of another nature with lunch or dinner at THE PIG in Brockenhurst. The nearby beaches in Dorset are gorgeous, and those staying at The Dairy can make use of their beach hut available to hire. Furry friends can be made at Longdown Farm and Marwell Zoo

Wales

For Cornwall quality beaches minus the crowds, look no further than Wales. One of the friendliest corners in England, full of majestic mountains, national parks and quirky towns.

Where to stay

The Pembrokeshire Coast is one of the UK’s prettiest sandy stretches and the only coastal national park. Recently named best hotel in Wales, Penally Abbey is a gorgeous gothic boutique hotel where big ones, little ones and furry ones are all warmly welcomed. Unlike at many hotels, all rooms are generously sized and the decadent bathrooms are simply ginormous – big enough to put the cot in for separate sleeping spaces minus the cost. It’s rare to find a dog friendly, family friendly hotel of this calibre. Fforest is a hip hybrid of a Welsh farm and Japanese forest retreat. Choose from rooms, cabins, tents and eco pods for a whole new level of glamping.

Where to play

Tiny tourist town of Tenby sits behind a toddler friendly stretch of sand, whilst the streets are filled with parent friendly independent stores, delis and eclectic eateries – Plantagenet House is a must if you’re in the area. Harry Potter fans big and small will love the stone tribute to Dobby on Freshwater West, where scenes of the film were filmed.
